Residents and visitors to Cobourg can now access convenient and affordable parking with Honk, the innovative App transforming parking across North America

Cobourg, ON, June 6th, 2018 – HonkMobile, North America’s fastest and most convenient way to find and pay for parking, announced today an expansion to The Town of Cobourg. Residents and visitors to Cobourg, Ontario can now search and pay for affordable and convenient parking with the touch of a button.

The Honk app allows users to seamlessly search, pay for, and top up parking directly from their smartphone, tablet or computer. No paper slip in the car windshield – users simply click, pay and walk away. In addition to giving users the ability to pre-purchase affordable parking, the Honk app notifies users when their parking session is set to expire and allows drivers to extend their parking session remotely.

Honk is determined to get drivers to their destination faster. Just in time for summer, residents and visitors will never be left circling the block when parking downtown or enjoying the vibrant beach area.

The launch in Cobourg builds off Honk’s increased demand in municipalities, schools and businesses across North America. By partnering with Honk, municipalities have increased meter revenue by up to 26% in some cases, resulting in a decline in issued parking tickets as drivers are able to extend their parking sessions remotely. The decrease in parking tickets saves municipalities money on printing paper tickets and the parking enforcement ticketing process, allowing them to reinvest savings into other priorities.

“We’re confident Honk’s innovative technology will bring with it the great results its seen in other municipalities across Canada,” said Mayor Gil Brocanier, Town of Cobourg. “The online app will provide our citizens with an affordable alternative to pay-and-display parking machines while reducing the volume of parking tickets. Honk will make parking more convenient for drivers and visitors to Cobourg, giving them more time to enjoy our beautiful surroundings.”

“We are thrilled to bring our innovative, fast and affordable parking experience to drivers in Cobourg,” said Honk Founder and CEO Michael Back. “Honk in a win-win for municipalities and drivers. We know finding parking can be frustrating and we look forward providing a worry-free, safe, secure and affordable parking experience. This partnership provides Cobourg with a reliable and inexpensive way to modernize parking, reduce congestion, pollution and wear on roads.”

Honk is on a mission to transform parking – whether grabbing a bite to eat in downtown Cobourg or heading to the beach, Honk will help you get there faster!
