This weekend was the opening day for trout fishing in most parts of southern Ontario and Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry were out monitoring areas. In Port Hope officers were patrolling the Ganaraska River checking for the proper licenses and along the Cobourg Creek they were doing the same. A number of fines were issued over the weekend for trespassing and other offences. One person temporarily got their e-bike stuck behind the Y in Cobourg.
