Male Arrested After Domestic-Related Stabbing in Oshawa

A 34-year-old male is facing charges after one person was stabbed and another threatened with a knife in Oshawa on Friday.

On Friday March 16, 2018 at approximately 6:30 p.m. officers responded to residence in the Wentworth Street and Oxford Street area of Oshawa after reports of a stabbing. A female had been threatened with a knife outside her townhome, after refusing entry to her ex-boyfriend. She returned to her unit and the male persisted by banging on the door. A male friend of another tenant inside the unit exited and was stabbed in the chest by the suspect. The two males were not known to each other. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The suspect was later arrested and charged.

A 34-year-old male of no fixed address, is charged with: Aggravated Assault; Weapons Dangerous(x2); Breach of Probation (x2); Assault With a Weapon; Uttering Threats- Death/Bodily Harm; and Assault. He was held for a bail hearing. His name is withheld to protect the identity of the female.
