Motor Vehicle Collision (Property Damage) – Division Street

At 11:41 am, on the 14th of March, 2018, a two motor vehicle collision occurred on Division Street just north of Veronica Street in the southbound lanes. As a result of the collision a natural gas line was struck and ruptured. Union Gas, the Cobourg Fire Department and EMS attended the collision.

A restaurant in the area of the collision and gas stations were temporarily evacuated as a precaution. Union Gas capped off the gas line and services were returned to normal. No persons involved in the collision were transported to the hospital.

As a result of the Police Investigation, one driver was charged with Change Lane Not in Safety contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, which carries a fine of $110.00.
