Cobourg Fire Services Respond to Encampment Fire (Again)

Cobourg Police and Fire Department responded to a fire at a former encampment on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

At approximately 3:40 p.m. emergency services were notified after a number of people saw smoke coming from the wooded area across from the VIA station on Division Street.

A fire at a former encampment was discovered, and extinguished.

Emergency services have attended the area numerous time for encampment fires.

Around the area a number of needles and drug paraphernalia was also found near the fire.
