Cobourg council expressed unanimous agreement on the success of this year’s Waterfront Festival.

“It was pure magic over the past weekend to see the community back and thriving, and I don’t think there was any incidents to report,” Deputy Mayor Nicole Beatty said.

“We were down there a few times, and folks were really happy to be exploring and participating in the weekend – and the parade was awesome.”

Stating for the sake of full disclosure that he is a member of the Rotary Club of Cobourg, Councillor Randy Barber extended kudos to the Rotarians and the Cobourg Lions Club – the two major players in the popular annual event.

“An absolutely phenomenal volunteer job they did on this past weekend,” Barber summed up.

“It requires, if not hundreds, thousands of hours of volunteer work. We all worked shifts, and were just amazed at the generosity of those who came to visit us and look through the various areas.

“Special thanks to both those organizations and the people who worked together to volunteer their time and also those who came and visited.”
