Thousands of people came out for a beautiful day to enjoy another year of Fanny Down the Ganny in Port Hope on Saturday, April 8, 2023.

Over 300 participants took part in the annual event 10 kilometre race along the Ganaraska River said co-chair Barry Adamson.

“It’s the right of Spring.”

The annual event commemorates the flood of 1980 that devastated the town causing millions of dollars in damage.

“The weather was perfect and we’ve got lots of participants,” said Adamson who estimated there were 10,000 people lining the route.

“We know Spring is here because Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny is here again this year.”
