Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and Northumberland OPP have charged a Colborne resident following an online child luring investigation.
On February 7, 2023, following a prolonged online investigation, police located and arrested a Colborne resident in Cobourg, Ontario. As a result of this investigation, Christopher Thomas COSS, 37-years-old, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Luring a child to facilitate sexual interference, contrary to section 172.1(1)(b)
- Luring a child to facilitate sexual assault, contrary to section 172.1(1)(b)
The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on March 1, 2023.

The OPP will continue to aggressively identify and pursue individuals who exploit children.
