Macaw A Regular Visitor To Downtown Cobourg and Port Hope

In Community, Local, News

For people who regularly visit downtown Cobourg and Port Hope they’ve most likely come across Jazz.
Jazz is a 18-year-old Hyacinth macaw owned by Debbie Johnston who moved to Port Hope approximately one-and-a-half years ago.
Since then, Johnston is a regular visitor to both downtown’s with Jazz gladly letting people pose for pictures while teaching people about the endangered species.
There are few then 10,000 Hyacinth macaw’s in the world and they can live up to 100-years-old.
Johnston says she used to regularly visit schools teaching about conservation and through that time Jazz has met well over 10,000 people.
Meeting people helps Jazz to socialize and on Saturday, July 7, 2018, Jazz was putting smiles of the faces of people at the Cobourg Farmer’s Market.
