Cobourg Police – Driver Charged with Impaired Driving (No Name Released)

A Hampton, Ontario woman has been arrested for impaired driving after police conducted a traffic stop in the Town of Cobourg.

On Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 12:45 a.m., police on general patrol in the area of Elgin Street at Division Street observed a vehicle make multiple driving infractions after exiting a parking lot onto Division Street.

Police conducted a traffic stop. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the police station for testing by a breath technician.

As a result of the police investigation, the 27-year-old Hampton, Ontario woman was charged with the following offences:

1. Operation while Impaired – Contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

2. Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) – Contrary to Section 320.13(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

3. Novice Driver – B.A.C. Above Zero – Contrary to Section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act

The driver was subsequently released on an undertaking with a court date scheduled for November 23, 2022.
