Northumberland OPP – Seeking Public Assistance with Fail To Remain Collision

(PORT HOPE, ON) – Police are investigating after a 71-year-old cyclist was struck in a fail to remain motor vehicle collision in the Municipality of Port Hope.

On November 5, 2022, at approximately 9:40 a.m., members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the scene of a fail to remain collision on County Rd 2, west of County Rd 65, in the Municipality of Port Hope, where a cyclist was stuck by a motor vehicle that failed to remain at the scene.

As a result of the collision, the cyclist was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police believe the vehicle involved may be a Dodge / Ram pickup truck that will have obvious damage to the passenger side mirror.

The Northumberland OPP are encouraging anyone with information regarding this incident to call their nearest OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
