Cobourg Fire Department Responds to West Pier

Cobourg Fire Department attended the west pier on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 for reports of a grass fire.

When fire crews arrived they were directed to two small areas where it appears a person/s were burning the plastic off copper wire.

One person was taken into custody, but police spokesperson Lisa Munday said there were no charges in relation to the fires, but a press release will be issued on Thursday regarding the arrest.
