Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Indecent Acts (Name Released)

A Cobourg man has been charged with indecent acts after police responded to a local business on Monday.

On Monday, April 25, 2022, at 8:00 p.m., police were called to a local business in the north end of Cobourg regarding a report of an indecent act. Police were informed that an unknown male entered the store and attended the front counter to check out. As an employee was assisting the man, the man exposed himself to the employee, then left the store.

Through video surveillance footage, police identified a person of interest. Police contacted the man, and he turned himself in to the police on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Luke Dwyer, a 27-year-old Cobourg man, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Indecent acts contrary to Section 173(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

2. Fail to comply with probation order contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

3. Fail to comply with probation order contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The man was held for a show cause hearing later today.
