Cobourg Council – Ginny & Georgia Can Come Back Any Time

In City Hall

As far as Cobourg Councillor Adam Bureau is concerned, Ginny & Georgia are welcome back to town any time – along with their co-stars, film crew and vehicular support.

Several times during the filming of the first two seasons of the Netflix series, the ensemble has descended on Cobourg to film. Inevitably some street sectors and parking lots are taken over for a few days, and American flags are flown from whatever flagpoles may be there, since Cobourg must be transformed into an American town for the show.

The most recent filming visit was last month, when more than 200 people and about 40 production trucks came to town.

And it was a delight, Bureau declared.

He was won over by the fact that a number of these visitors went around to the locations where they were filming just to make contact, and they even compensated affected businesses for their shortfalls.

“They explained everything that was happening and, when filming ended, you didn’t even been there the next day,” he said.

“They were very courteous, and we can’t wait for them to come back.”

Looking ahead, the councillor announced another filming visit in April, which will include a big reception scene to be shot in the Victoria Hall Concert Hall.
