Northumberland OPP – Two Brighton Groups Victims of Fraud

(BRIGHTON, ON) –The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to fraud complaints received from the Presqui’le Lighthouse Preservation Society and the Brighton Auxiliary Rescue Unit in January earlier this year.

An extensive investigation by the Northumberland Crime Unit resulted in Michael Nicholson (age 40) of Brighton ON, being arrested and charged with the following offences. Theft Over $ 5000, Fraud Over $5000 and Breach of Trust.

He has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on July 25, 2018.
