KPRDSB Can’t Comment On Report Teacher Donated to Freedom Convoy Using Work E-Mail

In Local

The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board said they cannot comment after a report that a teacher from Burnham Public School donated money to the Freedom Convoy.
A twitter account has listed a number of people who have allegedly donated to the Freedom Convoy that occupied Ottawa for three weeks.
It’s been reported the teacher used a work e-mail address.

A e-mail sent from a Trustee to a person stated, Kawartha Pine Ridge District Staff “were already aware of this incident.”
Today’s Northumberland reached out to Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board Chairperson, Diane Lloyd who stated, “you are right that I can’t speak to this specifically as it is a personnel matter.”

But stated, “Board Policy HR – 5.3 – Code of Conduct and the corresponding administrative regulations describe expectations regarding the use of Board-provided technology, including email addresses.  Student safety and well-being remain our priority. In general terms, when a staff member’s behaviour breaches the Code of Conduct, the matter is thoroughly investigated and appropriate steps are taken to address the conduct, which may involve disciplinary action up to and including termination.”
