Majority of People at Local Clinics Are Receiving Vaccines for the First Time

In Community, Local

A steady stream of people showed up to the pop-up vaccination clinic at the Cobourg Community Centre on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

Volunteer Paul Allen said volunteers were “very excited to be back at the CCC and in Cobourg.”

“When we closed it down a couple of weeks ago we were doing fairly large numbers. And we believe that there is still large numbers to do here.”

By the numbers shortly after 1 p.m. there was a steady stream of people attending the pop-up clinic at the CCC.

“The last few clinics the numbers have been over 50% of the people coming for first shots. It has to do with passports and events at facilities.”

On Wednesday there was a continual run of people at the pop-up clinic.

The room that is being used is the Cameco multi-purpose room which has enough space for the clinic.

The people entering the building for vaccines are completely separated from people entering the building for recreation.

Out of 96 people at a pop-up clinic in Castleton on Sunday, 60 were given vaccines for the first time.

The clinic runs until 4 p.m. at the Cobourg Community Centre.
