Peterborough County OPP – Theft Suspects Arrested After Fleeing Police

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate two theft incidents which occurred at a business on Drummond Line.

On August 31, 2021 at approximately 2:00am, the suspects attended the parking lot of the business and removed the catalytic converters from six vehicles. The suspects returned to the business on September 2, 2021 and removed the catalytic converters from four additional vehicles.

On September 8, 2021 at approximately 9:30am, the suspect’s vehicle was located by officers but fled at a high rate of speed. The suspect’s vehicle was later observed in Northumberland County but escaped officers by ramming a police cruiser. The suspect’s vehicle was located at approximately 12:30 pm near Balieboro and attempted to flee but lost control and entered the ditch on Hannah Road. (See attached photo). No injuries were reported.

Jordan MOODY (age 19) of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Break, enter a place-commit indictable offence-three counts

• Possession of property obtained by crime-under $5000-three counts

• Obstruct peace officer

• Dangerous operation-two counts

• Flight from peace officer-two counts

• Theft under $5000

• Possession of property obtained by crime-over $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing in The Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough later today.

A 17 year old suspect from Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Break, enter a place-commit indictable offence-three counts

• Possession break-in instruments

The accused is scheduled to appear in The Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on October 4, 2021.
