Quite West OPP – Drug Warrant Executed

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged multiple individuals following a controlled drugs and substances act investigation.

On September 9, 2021 at approximately 2:00 a.m., the OPP Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) of Quinte West and Cen tral Hastings, assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Baptiste Street in Trenton. A quantity of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, morphine, oxycodone, drug paraphernalia, as well as Canadian currency were seized.

Scott COMEAU, 31 years old, Christopher MATHIEU, 41 years old and a 16 year old male, each from Quinte West, along with Camar FRANCIS, 18 years old and Diego HERRERRA-VEGA, 21 years old both from North York have been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine;
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine;
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl;
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

FRANCIS has been also been charged with two additional counts of po ssessing a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone and morphine, and three counts of failure to comply with a release order. He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on September 9, 2021.

The remaining accused were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on October 4, 2021, with the youth appearing on October 5, 2021.
