Driver Airlifted to Toronto Trauma Centre Following Two-Vehicle Collision Near Centreton

The driver of a vehicle involved in a two-vehicle collision in Alnwick/Haldimand Township was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre on Friday, August 20, 2021.

At approximately 7 p.m. a van was travelling eastbound on County Road 22 west of Centreton while another vehicle was travelling northbound on South Burns Road.

The two vehicles collided at County Road 22 with the van staying on the road, while the other vehicle ended in the ditch with heavy damage to the driver’s side.

Alnwick/Haldimand Township firefighters extricated the driver of the vehicle that was in the ditch and both driver’s were transported to hospital.

County Road 22 will remain closed until at least 4 a.m. while OPP Technical Collision Investigators examine the scene.
