Recruit Paramedics Put Through the Paces of Emergency Driving

In Local

Fourteen new Northumberland County Paramedics were put through the paces at the Jack Burger Sports Complex parking lot in Port Hope to learn the ins and outs of driving in emergency conditions.

The recruits were put through classroom and practical driver training course on Thursday, June 17, 2021.

This ensures the safe operation of the emergency vehicle (ambulance).

The practical encompasses a pre- determined road/ route course with specific skills and abilities reviewed, and a slalom course to best appreciate the wheel base, vehicle dimensions, and handling.
