MPP’s Office Responds to Today’s Northumberland Story Concerning Vaccines

In Local

Northumberland-Peterborough South MPP David Piccini’s office has responded to a story concerning the vaccine numbers given out by the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit at clinics in Northumberland County.

“We had read the following article in Today’s Northumberland which mentions a reduction in vaccine allocations,” states Executive Assistant Paige Wiggans.

“Our office reached out again directly to the Province to confirm HKPR allocations to share that information with you.”

Piccini’s office stated:
Moderna April 5-11 Confirmed Allocation was 4,800
Moderna April 19 – 25 Tentative Dose Allocation 3,700
Pfizer April 5-11 Confirmed Dose Allocation 5,800
Pfizer April 12-18 Confirmed Dose Allocation 5,850

As well the 10,800 AstraZeneca doses were delivered.

The Ministry of Health has also confirmed the following states Piccini’s office.

“To mitigate the impacts of a split March 22 Moderna shipment and delays in delivery by the manufacturer (resulting in partial deliveries on March 25 and April 3), 600 additional doses of Moderna vaccines were sent to HKPR from the Provincial Strategic Reserve to support their needs.”
