Durham Police – Whitby Man Charged with Sexual Assault and Making Child Pornography

A Whitby man has been arrested and faces numerous charges in a sexual assault investigation.

On Thursday, September 10, 2020, members of the DRPS Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) section executed a warrant search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation. Upon the analysis of the accused’s electronic devices and a lengthy investigation, he is facing numerous charges. The offences are dated from 1999 to 2020.

Michael BALL, age 55, of Rossland Road in Whitby, faces numerous charges including: Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Making Child Pornography, Possessing Child Pornography, Accessing Child Pornography and Voyeurism. He was held for a bail hearing.

Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims as the accused has resided in Oshawa and Bowmanville. 

Anyone with new information about this investigation is asked to call D/Cst. Twiddy of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5550.
