Quinte West OPP – Three Suspects Charged in Break and Enter Investigation

Additional arrests made, shotgun seized
(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has made more arrests in relation to the investigation.

On January 16, 2021, at 10:50 a.m., Quinte West OPP responded to a report of a break-in at a restaurant on East Davis Street in Trenton where consumable items, as well as a cash box containing an undisclosed sum of money were taken.

Quinte West OPP, with the assistance of the Quinte West Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), executed a search warrant at the residence and recovered the stolen property. CSCU further located property from two separate thefts that occurred the same night at a business on Old Highway 2 and a residence on County Road 2 in Quinte West.

On January 19, 2021, Quinte West OPP arrested two additional people in relation to the break and enter and one person previously charged as a result of the break and enter.

Rhonda GIORDANO, 29 years old and Jason MCCULLOUGH, 31 years old, both of Quinte West were charged with the following:
Theft under $5000 – three counts
Possession of property obtained by crime – three counts; and
Possession of a schedule I substance – Methamphetamine
Possession of a firearm or a mmunition contrary to prohibition

Shelby-Dawn STILWELL, 29 years old of no fixed address was charged with the following offences:
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
Obstruct peace officer
Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine: and
Failure to comply with Undertaking

Later that evening, CSCU, assisted by ERT executed an additional search warrant at the residence on East Davis Street. CSCU members recovered more stolen property, including a dirt bike. Also located during the course of the search was a 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun along with ammunition.

As a result, MCCULLOUGH has been charged with the following additional offences:
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – two counts; and
Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
Possession of a schedule I substance – Fentanyl

The accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The investigation is continuing and additional arrests and charges are anticipated.
