Update – Person Identified in Fatal Fire in Colborne

On Wednesday January 6, 2021, at approximately 2:30 pm, members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a residential fire on Norton Lane in the town of Colborne.

Cramahe Township fire department attended the scene shortly after police arrived at the confirmed structure fire. A female occupant was removed from the blaze by firefighters and was transported by Northumberland paramedics to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Tanya Skeew Hawk of Cramahe Township.

OPP secured the location while the Office of the Fire Marshal conducted an investigation.
