Not Your Traditional Christmas Scene at Rotary Harbourfront Park in Cobourg

In Local

It’s not a traditional scene, but the fence is up at Rotary Harbourfront Rink in Cobourg.

Parks Department staff were down at the “frink” early Thursday, December 24, 2020 to install the fence and signage.

Cobourg Council held an emergency meeting on December 23 after the province announced an upcoming lockdown because of the increasing numbers of COVID-19.

With the outdoor skating rink already installed, council had three choices, do nothing, have it open with restrictions or close it entirely.

Council voted to keep the rink open, but with a number of restrictions.
