Exclusive – COVID-19 Case Confirmed at Legion Village in Cobourg

Exclusive – Today’s Northumberland has confirmed a resident of Legion Village in Cobourg has contracted COVID-19.

Executive Director of Legion Village, Sherry Gibson confirmed on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 that a resident has been isolated as a result of the positive case of COVID-19.

Gibson said they are still in consultation with the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit concerning the case, but at this stage the person has been isolated and only essential personnel are entering the facility.

One resident said they heard about the possibility of a case on Tuesday, but it was confirmed on Wednesday there was a person with COVID-19 at the facility.

Legion Village is a designated supportive housing buildings with 24-hour on-site personal care and support services to assist frail seniors and adults with physical and multiple disabilities.
