Statement From Former Cramahe Fire Chief

In Editor Choice, Local

Cramahe Fire Chief Tim Burgess resigned his position on Thursday, September 3, 2020.

Today’s Northumberland broke the story yesterday and reached out to Burgess for comment.

Burgess sent a message stating, “I am blessed to have been able to support our community and serve as the fire chief. It has been a great honor. In my term as fire chief I have been able to strengthen the relationship between Cramahe fire department and our neighboring mutual aid partners, create a standalone defensive driving program for the safety of our firefighters, developed a safe and reliable decontamination process for our firefighters at the scene and also prolonging the life of safety equipment, developed a standalone hiring process for new firefighters, developed our annual training cycle and officer advancement program, developed various short and long-term safety initiatives, dedicated to bringing a sense of community within the fire department such as our “neighborhood help program. “
“Very importantly I am proud to bringing current and past firefighters together with developing the annual fire fighter appreciation night and annual mental health awareness night for our fire families. The fire service is built on integrity and I am saddened that rumors take priority and precedence over credibility. I will be spending some well needed quality time with my family and looking forward for the next great opportunity to serve the fire service.”
