A missing Grafton man has been found and taken to hospital following after being lost in the woods near Huntsville.

Grafton residents Ted Nasmith and his wife Cecilia went for a picnic in the woods on Monday in Lake of Bays Township.  But after the picnic they became lost in the woods.

Neither one was carrying a cell phone and no one knew they were missing as they were on vacation.

The couple who have been married for 48-years became separated in the woods on Wednesday.

Cecilia managed to find a way out and a passing vehicle stopped. Emergency services including an OPP helicopter, canine units, members of the OPP Emergency Response Team and others joined in on the search for Ted.

Today’s Northumberland has learned at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Friday morning Emergency Response Team members found Ted in the woods and he has been taken to hospital.

Cecilia sent a text stating, “Just got good news. Mark (their son) said they found him early this morning. We’re going to the hospital to see him, but Mark says they’re optimistic.”

Today’s Northumberland will provide further updates.
