No Excuse For Not Using Porta-Potties In Cobourg Says Emergency Planner

In Local

Cobourg’s Emergency Planner said with the number of porta-potties available along the lakeshore there is no excuse for anyone using anything else.

“I don’t understand it,” said Emergency Planner Shannon Murphy said on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.

“We have porta-potties all around town.”

“They were put there very early during COVID as buildings closed and we needed to make sure the public had access to use the facilities.”

Like others have comments since Today’s Northumberland broke the stories, Murphy said, “it’s disgusting.”

“And there is no need for it.”

There are 10 portable washrooms from Hiberian Street to Paul Currelly Way that are cleaned and disinfected twice a day to health unit standards.

“With that frequency of cleaning these are not something that would get really gross.”

“We’ve never had anything down Hibernia. There have always been the two washrooms at the marina, but we have facilities at the marina, at Hibernia, over on the pier at the end of Division, we have them just inside of the (Victoria) park, we have them on Paul Currelly Way and of course we have them behind Victoria Hall.”

As Murphy puts it, there are “no excuses.”

Disgusting!!!
