Splash Pad In Victoria Park Was Opened Temporarily For Maintenance

In Local, Weather

It was good while it lasted in Victoria Park.

For a bit of time the Splash Pad was operational in Victoria Park on Friday, July 3, 2020.

And with temperatures soaring around the 30 degree Celsius for that little bit – it felt good.

But Communications Coordinator for Cobourg, Ashley Purdy said it was just maintenance.

“It is closed,” said Purdy.

“Our Community Services Division was just running a bit of maintenance on the Splash Pad.”

“The EOC (Emergency Operations Centre) is considering options to open safely. But we haven’t come to that decision yet.”

Today’s Northumberland noticed the only way to activate the operation of the Splash Pad is to place a hand overtop of the switch, which in times of COVID-19 would clearly be a problem.
