Northumberland OPP – Break and Enter Suspect Charged Following Break-in at Post Office

On September 22, 2019, members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an alarm at the Canada post office located 40 Main Street, Brighton where several coins valued at over $730.00 were found to have been stolen.

Investigation efforts by members of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) from the Northumberland detachement of the OPP, with the assistance of the Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS), and Belleville Forensic Indentification Services has resulted in Zachary VAUTOUR (age 24) of Quinte West, Ontario being arrested and charged with:

· Break, Enter a place to commit indictable offence
· Theft Under $5,000
· Mischief Under $5,000
· Fail to comply with Probation Order

The accused will be held in custody pending a future court date.
