Major Fire at Algoma Orchards Gourmet Market in Newcastle

Durham Regional Fire Services responded to a fire at Algoma Orchards Gourmet Market in Newcastle early Sunday morning, April 12, 2020.

The business issued a statement saying, “Our beloved Algoma Orchards experienced a loss early this morning. However, the facility is safe and the damage was contained to the back yard. Our sincerest thanks to all the emergency responders, firefighters, police and ambulance, who worked tirelessly to contain the blaze.”

There is no word on the cause or what actually was consumed in the fire.

Today’s Northumberland will advise of any further developments.
