Durham Police – Theft At Whitby Library

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects after a theft at the Whitby library.

On Monday, April 9, 2018, at approximately 5:00 p.m., members of Central West Division responded to a theft at the Whitby Library on Dundas Street in Whitby. The victim advised that she was in the library when she noticed her backpack missing. Surveillance video shows the female suspect taking the victim’s backpack and exiting the library. The backpack contained a laptop, purse and other personal items. The suspects are seen exiting the library with the stolen property.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1 is described as – female, white, 5’5’ tall, 40-50 years old, 190 pounds, red long hair in a ponytail, camouflage bomber jacket and camouflage leggings.

Suspect #2 is described as – male, white, 30-40 years old, thin build, black baseball hat with orange decal, brown jacket and carrying a gym bag.
