Northumberland OPP Trying To Get Message Across To Drivers

Northumberland OPP were out monitoring traffic on Highway 401 on Monday, November 18, 2019.

Two officers were at the Highway 401 eastbound off-ramp in Cobourg checking for seatbelt infractions between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.

All vehicles were checked including transport drivers.

A number of driver’s were charged with having no seatbelts on while driving.

The charge carries a fine of $240 and two demerit points.
