UPDATE – Cobourg Woman In Stable Condition After Being Run Over By SUV

In Editor Choice, Local

An 82-year-old woman is in serious but stable condition at a Toronto hospital after being run over in Cobourg on Monday, November 4, 2019.

A SUV ran over Helen Massey at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot of No Frills.

Massey’s son, Bob said his mother frequently visits No Frills for items since she moved to Cobourg from Alnwick/Haldimand Township.

Mrs. Massey suffered two broken legs and a broken heel when the front wheel of the SUV ran over her legs.

It’s expected she will have surgery in the upcoming days on her legs.

Her son said the family is very grateful for the bystanders, staff of No Frills, Cobourg Fire Department, Cobourg Police and Northumberland County Paramedics for the comfort and care his mother received at the scene.

Cobourg Police and Ontario Provincial Police are continuing their investigation.
