Knights Pulling For Dementia Fire Truck Pull at the Memorial Centre in Peterborough

The 5th annual Pulling for Dementia in Peterborough is this Friday on September 13th 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Memorial Center with proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Grafton residents Ron and Dianne Knight had a goal of raising $10,000.00 – $5,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society and $5,000 for the Minds in Motion Class that the Alzheimer’s Society runs and they have surpassed their goal by raising over $13,000.00. Ron and Dianne Knight have a team of 10 people made up of the Alzheimer’s Society “Minds in Motion Class” which is a community-based social program that incorporates physical activity and mental stimulation for people with early to mid-stage signs dementia and their care partners to participate in the event with all proceeds supporting the Alzheimer Society in Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland & Haliburton programs and services.

The Alzheimer’s Society programs include Support Groups, Education, and Friendly Visiting; and support persons with dementia, their communities, and their care partners.

Reverend Kevin Fast is the returning honorary chair for this event. Holding several Guinness World Records for feats of strength including pulling a 188.83-tonne Globemaster III plane. He has also pulled several fire trucks and even a house and been dubbed the world’s strongest priest.
