Breaking News – Search For Missing Person Along Cobourg Lakeshore

Emergency services were called to Cobourg Beach at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2019 after a report of a person in the water.

A security guard witnessed a person go into the water, but not come out and notified emergency services.

Members of the Cobourg Fire Department Canadian Coast Guard searched the water off Cobourg Beach and east of the east pier for any sign of the person.

A Search and Rescue helicopter from 424 Squadron at CFB Trenton was also called to assist in the search.

At approximately 4 a.m. the search was called off and nothing was found.
