Tractor Cab Engulfed In Flames On Highway 401

Northumberland OPP, Northumberland County Paramedics and members of the Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services attended a cab of a transport that was engulfed in flames on Friday, June 28, 2019 on Highway 401.

The call came in at approximately 10 a.m. to a transport fire just west Wesleyville.  When crews arrived on scene the cab portion was engulfed in flames.

Two lanes were shut down as crews extinguished the blaze.  The truck was hauling pellets of plastic and there were no injuries reported.

Ministry of Environment was also called to the scene to see how much soil would have to be excavated due to the diesel spill.
