Extremely Rare Film of Cobourg circa 1948

In Community

A rare glimpse of Cobourg in colour around 1948.

The footage shows the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Cobourg unveiling the Memorial Gates at the top of Victoria Park on King Street, and other activities in Victoria Park.

Parades along King Street, baby contest in Victoria Park, soldiers marching down King Street and more.

If there is enough feedback Today’s Northumberland will post other videos including film of the actual launching of the HMCS Cobourg Corvette and film of her crew.
