Northumberland Nighthawks headed to the OMHA Bantam AA Finals

In Hockey, News

The Northumberland Nighthawks are moving on to the Ontario Finals for the OMHA Bantam AA Championships after defeating the Markham Waxers on Saturday night at the Cobourg Community Centre.
In a hard fought battle the Nighthawks beat the Waxers 2-1 to take the five game series.
There were no goals in the first period but at 13:59 of the second period Oz Paziuk scored unassisted taking the Nighthawks to a 1-0 lead.
At 8:54 of the third period Ryan Crowley would score what would be the game winning goal shorthanded.
The Nighthawks were on the defensive as the Waxers pulled their goalie and scored with 1:42 left in the third, but that was all they could manage and the Nighthawks took the win and the series.
