Peterborough County OPP – Fatal Collision On Highway 28

Highway Closed north of Haultain Road

(NORTH KAWARTHA TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist at a collision at approximately 4:15pm on Highway 28 north of Haultain Road.

A head on collision occurred between two vehicles. A driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and the identity of the victim will not be released until next of kin are notified.

Highway 28 remains closed between Haultain Road and the Village of Apsley while members trained in Collision Reconstruction measure and document the scene. The Highway 2 8 closure will remain in place for several hours while police investigate.
