UPDATE Cobourg Police – Nearly 10 Ounces of Cocaine Seized by Police

In a joint investigation by Cobourg and Port Hope Police nearly 10 ounces of cocaine was seized shortly after 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019.
As first reported by Today’s Northumberland, two people were taken into custody in the parking lot in the area of James and John Streets.
A number of plain clothes officers were on scene and a vehicle was towed from the scene.
The press release confirms what Today’s Northumberland first reported.
“Officers were in the area of John Street and James Street in the Town of Cobourg, and observed a drug transaction between two males. Both males were arrested and a loaded firearm was recovered along with a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine.”
Today’s Northumberland has learned the amount of cocaine seized is believed to be between 8 and 10 ounces.

A nearby resident told Today’s Northumberland officers were giving “high-fives” to each other after the arrests.

24 year old Daniel CAMPBELL-JOHNSON of Ajax was arrested and charged with:

1) Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance (Cocaine) for the Purpose of Trafficking, Contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances x 2.
2) Trafficking in a Schedule 1 Substance (Cocaine), Contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act x 2.
3) CAMPBELL-JOHNSON was also charged with multiple firearms offences.
Daniel CAMPBELL-JOHNSON was held for a Bail Hearing on Wednesday, February 27th, 2019 at 1:30pm.

69 year old Floyd GRAHAM of Cobourg was arrested and charged with:

1) Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, (Cocaine), Contrary to Section 4 of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act. GRAHAM was released on a promise to appear with a court date in April of 2019.
