Durham Police – Suspect Arrested after Body Found in Oshawa

In Police Blotter

Homicide investigators have upgraded charges against Adam STRONG, who will now face two counts of First Degree Murder.

STRONG had initially been charged with Improper/Indecent Interference with a Dead Body in connection with the death of 18-year-old Oshawa resident Rori HACHE. That charge has now been dropped by the Crown in light of the new charges.

Although the whereabouts of Oshawa resident Kandis FITZPATRICK are unknown, sufficient DNA evidence has resulted in STRONG now being charged with her murder. Since this evidence was confirmed in 2018, she will be considered the 10th homicide victim in Durham Region this year.

Adam STRONG, now age 46, of McMillan Drive in Oshawa, remains in custody on the new charges, which were sworn into court today.

Anyone with new information pertaining to this investigation is urged to call the DRPS Major Crime – Homicide Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5407/5325.

Anonymous information can be sent to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or www.durhamregionalcrimestoppers.ca and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.
