The Municipality of Port Hope is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Pahor as the new Director of Corporate Initiatives, effective August 4, 2026.
Mr. Pahor will be responsible for leading the newly formed Corporate Initiatives Department, which encompasses the Environmental Remediation and Communications divisions. The Department will also oversee corporate initiatives focused on community and customer experience, Indigenous relations, business optimization, grant development, and strategic plan implementation.

Mr. Pahor brings more than a decade of experience in public policy, governance, environmental management, and stakeholder engagement across the municipal, nuclear, and energy sectors. Most recently, he served as Director, Regulatory Strategy at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO), where he led Indigenous and public engagement initiatives, supported regulatory approvals and impact assessment processes, and provided oversight of corporate governance and enterprise risk management programs. Mr. Pahor holds a Master of Public Policy and Governance degree from the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy (University of Toronto) and a Collaborative Program Certificate in Environmental Studies.
Throughout his career, Mr. Pahor has secured millions of dollars in funding for infrastructure, recreation, library, and cultural initiatives, while advancing strategic priorities through strong partnerships and community-focused leadership.

Mr. Pahor will officially join the Municipality on August 4 as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, and we look forward to warmly welcoming him to Port Hope.
