There is always plenty to see and do along the Trent-Severn Waterway in the Campbellford area.

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, numerous visitors took advantage of the warm weather to explore the popular Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge. The attraction continues to draw tourists from near and far, with busloads of visitors regularly stopping to take in the spectacular views overlooking the Trent-Severn Waterway.

The river was bustling with activity throughout the day. Two kayakers were spotted making their way upstream near the rapids, navigating the flowing waters beneath the bridge.

Not everyone was content to admire the scenery from a distance. Several youths were seen jumping into the river from the falls despite warning signs posted only a few metres away. The signs caution visitors about the dangers posed by rapidly changing water conditions and strong currents in the area.

For those looking for a more relaxing experience, the area at the bottom of Locks 11 and 12 offered a perfect place to sit back and enjoy the picturesque surroundings. The combination of rushing water, historic lock structures, and the iconic suspension bridge continues to make the site one of the region’s most popular destinations.

Whether visitors are seeking adventure on the water, a scenic walk, or simply a place to unwind, the Campbellford section of the Trent-Severn Waterway remains a favourite destination for residents and tourists alike.
