Northumberland OPP – Peterborough Man Facing Charges in Relation to Sexual Offences Investigation (Name Released)

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with sexual related offences.

In November 2025, police received a complaint regarding online communications involving child pornography.

Following almost a three-month investigation by the Northumberland Crime Unit, one person was taken into custody on February 12, 2026.

As a result, Jonathan HUNTER (31) from Peterborough, has been charged with:

· Makes, prints, publishes or possesses for the purpose of publication of any child sexual abuse and exploitation material

· Imports, distributes, sells or possesses for the purpose of distribution or sale of child sexual abuse and exploitation material

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
