Northumberland OPP – Multiple Charges Following Traffic Stop in Trent Hills (Names Released)

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals following a traffic stop in Campbellford.

On January 15, 2025, at around 2:50 p.m., while on patrol, OPP attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by a prohibited driver. Both motorist and passenger who were wanted, fled on foot from police and were shortly taken into custody by officers with assistance from members of the Peterborough-Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

A search yielded a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and ammunition.

Jeremy RICHARDSON (45) of no fixed address, has been charged with:

Flight from peace officer

Fail to comply with probation order – tw o counts

Operation while prohibited

Jennifer BRIDGES (45) of no fixed address, has been charged with:

Possession of Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine

Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order

Fail to comply with probation order

Both accused were held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg. The vehicle has been impounded for 45 days.
