Local Players in OHL U16 Showcase in Peterborough This Week

Trent Clow and Lauchlan Whelan will compete Tuesday and Wednesday at the Ontario Hockey League’s U16 Top Prospects Showcase in Peterborough.

Both are from Cobourg and play for the Quinte Red Devils U16 triple-A team.

At the Showcase, Clow will play for Team Byfield while Whelan will suit up for Team Suzuki. They will face each other Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Miskin Law Community Complex at 271 Lansdowne Street West.

Admission is free.

On Wednesday at the same arena, Clow and Team Byfield will face Team McDavid at 1 p.m. and Whelan and Team Suzuki will take on Team Tavares at 3 p.m.

Players are eligible for the 2026 OHL Priority Selection draft this spring.

Meanwhile, the Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game will be played Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. The players in that game are eligible for the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
