The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has recently charged several individuals in unrelated intimate partner violence investigations and is sharing this information to raise awareness about available support resources. Unfortunately, intimate partner violence remains a common occurrence in our communities, and police continue to respond to these calls regularly.
On December 26, 2025, a complainant reported unwanted communications at a location on Theatre Road in the Township of Hamilton.
A 44-year-old male from Quinte West was charged with:
• Harassing communications
On December 29, 2025, officers responded to a dispute in progress on Mill Street in the Municipality of Trent Hills involving assault and property damage.
A 35-year-old female from Trent Hills was charged with:
• Assault – spousal
• Assault
• Mischief – destroys or damages property
On December 30, 2025, officers investigated a dispute at a residence on Big Apple Drive in the Township of Cramahe. Non-serious injuries were reported.
A 19-year-old male from Cobourg was charged with:
• Assault – spousal – two counts
On December 31, 2025, OPP were called to Margaret Street in Trent Hills regarding threats of assault involving a weapon.
A 46-year-old female from Trent Hills was charged with:
• Assault with a weapon – spousal
• Assault – spousal
On January 1, 2026, a caller reported an individual prohibited from attending an address on Bridge Street in Trent Hills. The person was located nearby with an open container of liquor.
A 39-year-old male from Trent Hills was charged with:
• Failure to comply with release order
• Having liquor in an open container in an unauthorized place
Each of the accused shall not be named to protect the identity of the victims.
